A Russian Fairytale
Kolya is nineteen years old and has not lived at home or been to school since the age of seven. He comes from a broken family and spent much of his childhood being passed between his mother and grandparents.

His grandmother worked at the central market selling sunflower seeds and Kolya would occasionally help her. Here he met a group of street children and began spending days and weeks away from home, living in the basements and sewers with the kids; stealing and begging in order to get the money for food and glue.

Over the years he became increasingly detached from his family home and is now unable to spend more than a few days at home before feeling the pull of freedom of life on the streets.
